Independent design studio Motorcity Europe (MCE) is launching another series of two- and five-day design workshops aimed at broadening the skills, experience and job prospects of anyone working - or looking to work - within the field of automotive design. Based on the massive success of the MCE Summer Seminars, these follow up workshops in February 2010 will be an intensely improved version, open to all skill levels of design. The BYD F3 Surui replaces the outgoing F3 sedan, one of the most popular cars in the Chinese market. Based on the Toyota Corolla platform, the wheelbase of the F3 Surui has increased from 2,600mm to 2,660mm. While many Chinese manufacturers prefer employ well-known foreign design studios, such as Bertone and Giugiaro, BYD has eschewed that practice by relying on its own design team.
The RAC believes call outs to cars with punctures but no spare wheel will reach 250,000 a year by 2015, so has decided to roll out its own universal spare wheel as a hassle-reducing solution. The universal spare wheel, which has already been successfully trialled, should become standard equipment for all RAC breakdown patrols by early February 2014.
